How soon can my baby come home?
	It normally depends on the severity of your infant�s medical complications. See your doctor for specific information.
What are the tubes connected to my baby and what are they for?
	The tube coming from the baby�s nose is called the oro/nasal gastric tube. This tube monitors breathing through the baby�s nostrils. There is also an endotracheal tube which monitors breathing in the infants windpipe and out through the mouth. The probe seen on the baby�s chest is connected to an EKG which monitors the heart rate. A temperature sensor is also attached to the other side of the baby�s chest. Sometimes another probe called the apnea monitor may be attached to track pauses in the infants breathing
What is �Kangaroo Care�?
	Kangaroo Care is a skin-to-skin cuddling technique between mother and preemie that provides emotional and physiological nurturing to the infant in order to speed up recovery. The term Kangaroo is used because of the similarities seen in the way a mother kangaroo nurtures her young in her protective pouch.
What is a Pettaway Mentor?
	A Pettaway Mentor is a parent, grandparent or sibling who has experienced the ordeal of nurturing a premature infant. These mentors are volunteers who have been trained to supply new parents with information, guidance and encouragement. In order to deliver quality support services, the Pettaway Foundation requires all of its volunteer mentors to complete training classes in interpersonal skills, crisis management, basic neonatal terminology and infant CPR.
