The Pettaway Pursuit Foundation (PPF) was founded by Mrs. Theresa Pettaway. Mrs. Pettaway experienced the anxiety of early labor with all three of her children and the terror of seeing her newborns, whose birth weights ranged from 1 pound 9 ounces to 4 pounds in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She spent years overcoming traumatic experiences while caring for her fragile infants together with the loving and constant support of her husband. After suffering through three premature births, Mrs. Pettaway saw that there were more women facing similar trauma. She wanted to offer women the kind of support she never received. She was inspired to build an organization designed to provide education and other special services to low income pregnant women diagnosed as high-risk and families with premature infants.
